Who is Chanice Salter?

I am a 28 (nearly 29) year old female, living in a small town in Suffolk. 

I spent a portion of my life working in care, training to be a nurse but one day I realised that wasn’t for me… 

I currently work part time in a bridal shop because I am yet to be noticed as an artist.. but to wake up and paint all day is my dream. 
To have the freedom to paint what I want, when I want and make people happy with this is all I want to do. 

I have two children and I am married, we have a creative household full of painting, drawing, singing and dancing (definitely not me in the latter!) 

To show my family that to be creative doesn’t have to be wasted in the mundane life to life trying to get by is key for me. We can use this creativity to thrive instead of ignoring it just to survive. 

It took me years to find my “niche”. The paintings I created when I didn’t know what to paint are misunderstood and embarrassing… but one day it just clicked. I found what I was good at, and worked on it. 

When I finish a painting, I feel proud, I feel accomplished but I still always feel a bit embarrassed. The worry that others don’t see or understand it the way I do. 
I have been working mostly on commission paintings for the last few years, completing 24 between October and December 2024!!
However, I felt it was time to get myself out there with the work I have created myself. 
Any support from a post share, a link re post or a purchase feels huge to me and I am so thankful for the support I’ve had already.
